Tchavolo rules, no one plays with his monstrous attack and passion...that said, his guitar tone on this dvd/cd collection is not his usual sound, if you love his earthy dry close mic stuff ala Miri Familia, or Alors Voila (where you can hear actually him inhale!) then the combination of stimer pickup into a Fender product, mixed with a live mic, may be a bit distracting. But, I'm a big fan of the Alsace region guys and he is the king, I think that Tchavolo would sound great on broken three stringed banjo!

If you are into Manouche music, this is a must have DVD. You can actually watch Tschavalo and play it back. I've seen Tschavolo live a few times and he's one of the best in the GYPSY JAZZ GUITAR PLAYER. A legend in his own time. I wish the dvd was available in all zone , I have to play this dvd in my laptop to watch the video. Lito www.jgmrecording.com
