Book/CD set. Focuses on the key elements of the Django Reinhardt Gypsy jazz or Manouche guitar style, gleaned from years of experience jamming with French Gypsies and studying with masters of the style. A native of France, Wrembel acquired his skills entirely by ear and has taught scores of musicians worldwide using this method. Taught in a logical, step by step manner, this covers authentic Manouche style as it continues to evolve. For the guitarist who is already familiar with jazz harmony and note locations on the fretboard. Intermediate/advanced. In English, German and French. Note/tab. 111 pp.

Indepth

Cons:

This is one of those books which after the initial studying will be constantly referenced. Stephane methodically picks through basic to advance arpeggio shapes, scales, lead passages, etudes, and more. He makes suggestions as what is popular to play and what is commonly avoided or should be handled with care. This is a method book and may make many players eyes bleed but should be taken in small doses a chapter or page at a time as the information within is quite indepth.

Fantastic! It has answered a lot of questions I had. I wish It had been available when I made my first attemps at playing this kind of music.
