Badass on a Budget!

By: Briggs on 05/06/2011 10:53:47 PM

Pros: Cheap, Good Tone, Nimble, Good Longevity

Cons: The Stigmata of affordability

I'd tried many different brands (from mid-range to higher end) in both 10's and 11's, but for some reason never got around to purchasing these. I think part of my mind had built a stigmata around "the cheapest set of strings". I recently purchased a Gitane Lulo, which had a set of the GHS' and I was pretty damn impressed. At first I attributed this to the guitar (having switched from the Gran Bouche), but after a couple of string changes with other brands (that shall remain nameless) I ended up buying the GHS'. I'm not saying they're the greatest strings ever, but for the price they are pretty kickass! Good tone, very nimble feeling, good longevity. They do lose some crispness quickly, but in my experience most strings of this style do. Basically they rule!
