love this amp

i don't usually buy something like this unseen, untested, and over the net. but i wanted one after checking them out as best i could. it seemed it would fit a need, to have my guitar cut through in my 6 pc. jazz/swing band without having to crank the volume or the treble. well, the zt club has succeeded on both counts. the midrange-prominent voicing really stands out, and lets my guitar be heard while maintaining a great jazz tone. it did take me a few tries to dial in that tone, but once i had it, done deal! i have a jazzkat tomkat, a tech21 trademark 60, and these are both good amps. but for now, and i think ongoing, the zt club is my amp of choice. if you try one of these, your first impression will probably be that it doesn't have enough high end, and maybe that will be the case for some. but if you give it a chance, and let this wonderful tone get under your skin, you're going to love it. ia also doesn't hurt that it weighs only 22 lbs. i am a happy customer.

Pros: weight (of course), volume, and tone

Cons: extension vs internal speaker, and gain structure (a learning curve here!)

I bought this amp after selling an '84 Twin Reverb 2, which was 85 lbs (!), and the gigs I do use a lot less volume than what an amp like that is capable of. Djangobooks, surprisingly, had the best price, beating the big box boys by a substantial margin! The amp has considerable volume---200 watts "total output" power translates roughly into 100 watts RMS---which is plenty, really. Still getting used to the gain structure on it---it operates somewhat in reverse from what I'm used to, but once the sound gets dialed in for the particular place you're in, it kicks! Got its trial by fire this weekend at a festival for 3 sets in 2 different rooms, and a small club gig with lousy acoustics, and it handled all situations well. Works well with pedals, too. The extension versus internal speaker feature was a bit perplexing, but it handled my 15" extension well. I've heard these little things will power a 4-12" half stack. One thing I see is that it seems to favor lower output pickups, read "vintage" output, either single or double coil. The gain structure is more flexible with that. Although I use mostly electric guitars of various kinds, I have a Gitane DG250M with a Krivo Djangobucker, which has an output in k Ohms roughly that of a vintage Strat, and the sound was quite good; very flat and not peaky, as most any Selmer or clone woofs or squeals pretty quickly when amped. This WILL be the go-to amp for the Gitane! Amazingly enough, it even handled my string bass with great fidelity...wonder if these guys will do a bass amp of some kind in the future? Kudos to Michael for getting this product in and making it a bargain in the process----it's a keeper.

Pros: Ample clean power, flexible tone, crazy loud if need be, , manageable size, great for any gig or rehearsal

It's very rare that I am compelled to give a product a glowing review, but the ZT Club deserves no less. While admittedly, it can't be everything for every guitarist, it's a perfect fit for my needs. Great response, more than adequate power for gigs, and easy on the back. I play several styles of music with a number of bands and performers, and it's a joy to have a flexible amp that will accommodate the turn-on-a-dime changes I have to make it the course of a weekend. Plus the manageable size means I can have the sound I tweaked at rehearsal at the performance too! My only regret is that I waited til now to purchase one. Also the service I received from DjangoBooks can't be overstated. Great price, friendly and responsive service made this my most pleasurable purchase to date. I highly recommend DjangoBooks and ZT Amps!

Pros: 22lbs Loud , Clean , Effects Loop

Cons: Caution ! Internal speaker can't be used with an External cabint thats why they don't sell a Club cab. Unlike the lunchbox in which they do.

First off I was a little bummed that the External Speaker Output can't be used with the Internal speaker like the Lunch box. ( you guys could have made more $$$ Bad decision ) I would have bought a extra cab in the future.I bought this Amp for believe or not for the weight mainly. Of course I want a good sounding Amp and it's LOUD. I could understand why Jazz players would like this Amp. It's sort of flat sounding and in the clean setting (Gain Low and volume High ) has a nice mellow Jazz tone. But I use it in a cover band playing 60's 70's 80's rock. I use 3 settings I use the Gain low volume high to get a clean sound and use my ME-50 for effects to color up this flat sounding Amp with a slight distortion for rhythm and my tube screamer for solo breaks.Leads sound nice on amp when you raise the gain and lower the volume but in a live performance it's not realistic.Used the effects loop on one gig didn't on another but I do like the Tube screamer in front of amp.If you don't use effects I don't think this amps for you except Jazz guys.

Cons: Clipped lows and odd attack.

The ZT Club definately has a colored tone. It doesn't exactly sound like a solid state amp, but it doesn't really sound like a tube amp either. It has a very useable tone for Jazz using a big box guitar, and the distorted tone is very useable, but it is the clean between that I'm not sure about. But I'm still messing around with it. Tried it one job. Plenty of head room, but still looking for the tone I like. By the way, great customer service form DJango. Shipped the same day I bought it and got it within 3 business days.

Great sound from a small amp, this ZT 12 Club is the perfect amp if you live in a small space and want a big and clean sound, I will put off getting the ENGL until I move into a bigger space.
